TEMPLEPATRICK 7 - Whitehead 1
We should have brought swimming stuff with us as the pitch was waterlogged in places.
We started the game with Ryan A scoring from a fumble from the Whitehead goalie after 2 minutes. Chris S. made the score 3-0 at half time with 2 well taken goals. Stuart, Curtis and Andrew linked up very well and played some very good football. Matthew, Paul and Peter G. made sure that no Whitehead player got behind them and that restricted Whitehead to long range efforts which were well saved by Taylor. Darren and Hugo worked their socks off with some very good moves on the right.
At half time Jake replaced Peter G. and Whitehead pulled a goal back. Philip and Angus then replaced Darren and Ryan. A great passing move from Stuart in defence to Andrew who did a great pass to Curtis who then beat several Whitehead players to cross in for Chris to claim his hat-trick. Angus then followed suit with another well taken goal as the Whitehead defence collapsed to make it 5-1. Whitehead were now being overrun by a superb and solid display of football from Templepatrick and any threat to defence was easily snuffed out by our back four and goalie. Chris then added his fourth goal with a rasping shot into the back of the net and then Curtis claimed a goal after a Whitehead player knocked the ball into his own net to make the Final Score 7-1
Scorers Chris S (4), Ryan A, Angus McK, Curtis
Keep this up boys, this was a great performance and will do your confidence the world of good.

Happy Christmas Everyone!!!
Training has been arranged for Friday 28th December at Templepatrick Primary School for 10.30 - 12.30.
We have a game the next day at Threemilewater against Whitehead ko 10.30am.
Team will be selected on Friday morning.
NIBFA/Tesco u13 Cup v Doyle YC on 15th December at Mallusk.
Result: Doyle 4 Templepatrick 2
Scorers: Ryan A. & Christopher S.
Sickness hit Templepatrick on Saturday with only 11 fit players available to play. We soon found ourselves 2 goals down after only 10 minutes. Our players were playing in positions not normally theirs but we got into our stride with Glyn going close with a shot on goal. Andrew E and Curtis G. worked well on the left. We finished the first half 4-0 down despite some good goalkeeping from Karl. At half-time the coaches brought on Matthew B. and Hugo K who had arrived from rugby and we changed the formation of the team. This worked well because Doyle could not get out of their own half for the next fifteen minutes. The ball was cleared from Peter G to Darren K who crossed into the centre where Ryan A. latched on to the loose ball and calmly slotted home for his debut goal. The boys had their tails up and soon we pulled another goal back with Christopher S. blasting the ball past the Doyle goalie. However, despite all the possession and good football we just found it too much to pull back another couple of goals. All credit goes to all the boys for a good competitive game and it shows that we can compete with other teams from different leagues.

TAYFC v Larne Colts
Despite playing some of the better football and creating more chances we still ran out to a 5-nil defeat.
The referee had a word with the boys at the end of the game and told them if they had worked a little bit harder and with more determination it should not have been 5-0, but could have been a victory. He also picked out some players for the rest of the team to aspire to.

Saturday's game v Antrim Rovers
A disappointing result after a very good performance from the boys. On the balance of play we were the better team but we just could not get the end result. The first half display was excellent and going in at half time 0-0 it was looking like whoever scored first was going to win the game. We did score first but into the wrong net and then shortly after we were 2 down. The boys heads went down but they soon rallied and put more pressure on Antrim's goal to try and reduce the gap but they had numbers back in defence. Antrim were awarded a soft free-kick after one of their players tripped over a blade of grass (apparently the blade of grass was wearing Templepatrick colours) and made the final score 3-0 in Antrim's favour.
Some very good performances from Templepatrick especially Peter G (who kept a former player very quiet), Philip McG in central midfield and Jake G who ran rings round their left winger.

Saturday, 10 November 2007
Not the result we were expecting after a great start. We had the game under control for the first 15 minutes, competing well with good tackling and passing, then it fell apart. Half time score was 0-3. The second half wasn't much better going further behind quickly after the restart. We did not recover despite the best efforts from the back four. It was only the last 10-15 minutes that we started to get back into the game but the damage had already been done.
Hopefully we will have a better game against Antrim Rovers next Week!!
TRAINING as normal on Wednesday night, 7.00 - 8.30pm at Ballyclare Rugby Club.

A comment from a person who was watching last weeks game with his six year old son,
"I couldn't believe the high standard of football being played by boys of ages 12 & 13 today. The team in red (Templepatrick) were actually trying to play football passing the ball to each other instead of just booting the ball anywhere on the pitch. It was a pleasure to watch."
This was relayed to me in work on Tuesday night. He had just come to let his six year old son see what football teams are about.
Comments like this are going around about Templepatrick and hopefully more and more people will take notice of what good footballers we have at u13 level.

Match Report
Carnmoney 3 Templepatrick 0
A disappointing result, but yet another very good performance from Templepatrick. The team battled well during the first half going close on numerous occasions but a misunderstanding in defence resulted in Carnmoney taking the lead. Templepatrick were awarded a penalty soon after for handball but unfortunately the ball went the wrong side of the post.
h/t 1-0 Carnmoney
Templepatrick started the second half in control of the game with some very good football. The passing today was excellent with some good moves down the wings. We came close again on several occasions but our shots were straight at the Carnmoney goalkeeper. Carnmoney scored again from a long range effort totally against the run of play and were then awarded a dubious penalty from which they scored to make the final score 3-0.
Full credit to all our team who worked really hard this morning. The results will go our way if we keep working and battling the way we did today.
Apologies to our substitutes who didn't get on.
Man of the Match today was Jake G (for his work at right back, tackling and passing)
Special mentions for Stuart, Paul, Matthew and Taylor (all were composed and solid in defence).

MATCH REPORT
TEMPLEPATRICK v Ballysillan
Saturday 27th October at 3 Milewater
Result 3-3 Half-time 0-0
What a game, what a performance!
Templepatrick started the game in a determined fashion, creating plenty of chances with Darren on the right weaving in and out of the bewildered Ballysillan defence and Curtis coming close on two occasions. Templepatrick were unlucky not to be ahead at the break. Ballysillan quickly scored two goals after half-time but Hugo then scored after great passing work from Andrew and Darren. Templepatrick continued to push forward and Hugo scored his second goal with a great shot from a cross by Curtis. Ballysillan had several shots on goal which were ably saved by Taylor. Ballysillan scored their third from a free kick and it looked as if the game was over. However, from the restart, Templepatrick pushed forward and with two minutes to go were rewarded with a penalty for holding. Matthew stepped up and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to make the score 3-3.
Full credit to all the boys for a great result!
Man of the Match: Taylor (who stepped into goals at the last minute and had a great game).
