TAYFC v Larne Colts
Despite playing some of the better football and creating more chances we still ran out to a 5-nil defeat.
The referee had a word with the boys at the end of the game and told them if they had worked a little bit harder and with more determination it should not have been 5-0, but could have been a victory. He also picked out some players for the rest of the team to aspire to.

Training as normal on Wednesday at Ballyclare - Big turnout please.

Saturday's game v Antrim Rovers
A disappointing result after a very good performance from the boys. On the balance of play we were the better team but we just could not get the end result. The first half display was excellent and going in at half time 0-0 it was looking like whoever scored first was going to win the game. We did score first but into the wrong net and then shortly after we were 2 down. The boys heads went down but they soon rallied and put more pressure on Antrim's goal to try and reduce the gap but they had numbers back in defence. Antrim were awarded a soft free-kick after one of their players tripped over a blade of grass (apparently the blade of grass was wearing Templepatrick colours) and made the final score 3-0 in Antrim's favour.
Some very good performances from Templepatrick especially Peter G (who kept a former player very quiet), Philip McG in central midfield and Jake G who ran rings round their left winger.
Joint M.O.M. Philip McG. and Jake G.

New Training Kit - Raintops - KitBags - Fundraising

RAINTOPS
The Raintops have been ordered and should be with us in about 3-4 weeks time. They are in Club Colours, Red/Black, with each having a Squad number, Club Badge and our Club Sponsor Tesco logo on the back.

NEW TRAINING KIT
A Training Kit has been ordered. It will be a White Top, Blue Shorts and White Socks, fully numbered on shirt and shorts. It is hoped that all boys will wear this on training nights and on Saturdays when the opposing teams colours clash with Templepatrick's Club Colours. Unfortunately this kit has still to be paid for from u13 funds.

KITBAGS
It is also hoped to supply each member of the Squad with a Kitbag for Club use only. It will be Numbered and TAYFC name and Badge printed on it, so......

FUNDRAISING
In order to pay for the new kit, we are organising a Fireside Quiz which will be given out to all the Squad at training tonight. Each boy will be given 10 sheets to sell at £1.00 each. Try to sell as many as you can. If you need any more sheets, please contact Neil asap. Any money left over from the new kit will be put to the Kitbag Fund and other club uses.

Many thanks for your support,
Neil

Templepatrick V Larne Youth

Not the result we were expecting after a great start. We had the game under control for the first 15 minutes, competing well with good tackling and passing, then it fell apart. Half time score was 0-3. The second half wasn't much better going further behind quickly after the restart. We did not recover despite the best efforts from the back four. It was only the last 10-15 minutes that we started to get back into the game but the damage had already been done.
Hopefully we will have a better game against Antrim Rovers next Week!!

TRAINING as normal on Wednesday night, 7.00 - 8.30pm at Ballyclare Rugby Club.

Last Weeks Game v Carnmoney

A comment from a person who was watching last weeks game with his six year old son,

"I couldn't believe the high standard of football being played by boys of ages 12 & 13 today. The team in red (Templepatrick) were actually trying to play football passing the ball to each other instead of just booting the ball anywhere on the pitch. It was a pleasure to watch."

This was relayed to me in work on Tuesday night. He had just come to let his six year old son see what football teams are about.

Comments like this are going around about Templepatrick and hopefully more and more people will take notice of what good footballers we have at u13 level.

All TAYFC squads have been asked to attend. A big turnout from the u13 squad would be great. Please telephone Neil if interested by Tuesday please for final numbers (so far 12 people have expressed interest).

Match Report
Carnmoney 3 Templepatrick 0
A disappointing result, but yet another very good performance from Templepatrick. The team battled well during the first half going close on numerous occasions but a misunderstanding in defence resulted in Carnmoney taking the lead. Templepatrick were awarded a penalty soon after for handball but unfortunately the ball went the wrong side of the post.
h/t 1-0 Carnmoney
Templepatrick started the second half in control of the game with some very good football. The passing today was excellent with some good moves down the wings. We came close again on several occasions but our shots were straight at the Carnmoney goalkeeper. Carnmoney scored again from a long range effort totally against the run of play and were then awarded a dubious penalty from which they scored to make the final score 3-0.
Full credit to all our team who worked really hard this morning. The results will go our way if we keep working and battling the way we did today.
Apologies to our substitutes who didn't get on.
Man of the Match today was Jake G (for his work at right back, tackling and passing)
Special mentions for Stuart, Paul, Matthew and Taylor (all were composed and solid in defence).

TRAINING as normal on Wednesday night 19.00 - 20.30
